Description
I've taken a break from Photoshop (next semester I will pick it up again) and have started to learn print making techniques using a Conrad printing press. At the moment I am working with watercolor based monotype, creating my images with almost any water-soluble medium. At the moment that’s limited to watercolor paints and pencils (but I got myself some overhead projector pens which should give me some nice bright color options).
This is the last image of three before I move onto oil-based monotype. This image is painted/drawn onto a coated sheet of frosted acetate (or frosted plexiglass plate) before being printed; it still has some things I want to work out before I call it done. This one will probably not get to go threw the press, it’s been dry for more than 48 hours.
It’s been a long time since I worked with watercolor, so my images are kind of random. They haven’t been turning out quite how I expected (at least once printed) so I am just experimenting, playing around, and making mistakes. All in all have a great time.
Monotype, 8”x12” frosted acetate, watercolor paint, watercolor pencil, salt.
